THEFT FROM TRUCK, ASSAULT 

Drayton Valley RCMP say on May 2 just before 8:30 a.m. a report came in of a theft from a truck. The truck’s door handle was damaged, and stolen items include a Klein tool bag and Klein tools including screwdrivers, nut drivers, pump pliers, lineman side cutters, crimpers, wrenches, punches, cable cutters, knives and cable strippers total value approximately $1000.

At 8:39 a.m. in Brazeau County Vermillion Energy reported theft of ground cables from lease site.

Just before 9 a.m. on 53 Avenue a report was received of a male laying in the back entrance of the apartment building.  Wearing blue coveralls and sweater.  Members attended and located 38 year old Peter Bilan sleeping on the grass beside the building.  Bilan was arrested on outstanding warrants and held for a Bail hearing and remanded into custody. 

Just before 11:30 a.m. at the Poplar Ridge Trailer Court a complainant reported being harassed and assaulted by family member who was high on drugs. Police attended and arrested male.

THEFT OF GAS, THEFT FROM VEHICLE 

On May 3 just before 9 a.m.  on Range Road 53 in Brazeau County Theft of Gas – Report of approximately 800 gallons of gas being stolen over the past two weeks.  No locks on tanks.

At 11:09 a.m. at the Holiday Inn Parking lot a report came in of a truck being broken into sometime overnight.  A brief case, keys, registration and insurance were stolen.  

THEFT OF UTV, TRAFFIC COLLISON 

On May 4 just before 9:30 a.m. on 58 Avenue a report came in of two individuals jumping the fence of Pembina Pipeline then breaking into a utility trailer before stealing a UTV.  The UTV is a 2014 Blue, Polaris Ranger.  Members attended location and obtained surveillance video. 

A little after 1 p.m. Mounties were called after a report of a traffic collision on Township Road 492 and Range Road 75. One vehicle was not driveable and there were no injuries.  Members attended scene and a violation ticket issued for turning when not safe to do so.  

THEFT OF COPPER WIRE

On May 5 just before 8:30 p.m. on Range Road 82 in Brazeau County a report of theft of copper wire from Sinopec Easyford Battery site.  

MAN CHARGED WITH THEFT OF MAIL

On May 6 at 7:30 am at the Main Post office a member on patrol observed a male hiding behind the post office.  Male matched description of suspect who had previously broken into mail boxes.  Member approached male who had several mail items belonging to several different people.  24-year-old Kyle Parkhurst was arrested and charged for theft of mail as well as possession of break in instruments.  Parkhurst was also on an outstanding warrant for mischief.  A bail hearing was held and Parkhurst was remanded into custody.  

At 12:50 p.m. in Parkland County Sinopec Canada report theft of solar panel batteries and damage to cables.  

LEASE SITE THEFT, FRAUD, TWO ARRESTED AFTER BREAK AND ENTER TP RESIDENCE 

On May 7 just after 8:30 a.m. on 47 Street a report of a theft from a vehicle after an unlocked vehicle was entered and wallet, Magellan GPS and ICOM VHF radio stolen. 

At 9:25 a.m. in Brazeau County ARC resources reports damage to lease site gate, damage estimated at $1500.  Possible suspect. 

Just after 10 a.m. a complainant reported receiving a phone call from a person identifying themselves as Alex Thompson from the Canada Revenue Agency demanding money or a warrant for their arrest would be issued.  Complainant gave $400 in the form of a Steam Card.  Public is reminded that the Canada Revenue Agency will not call you and demand money, nor will they advise you that a warrant for your arrest will be issued if you do not comply. 

At 6:19 p.m. on 52 Street in Rocky Rapids a report of a break and enter after a residence had been taken over by the bank.  Complainant noticed that there is a truck there and a woman attempting to get into the house.  Members attended and arrested 31-year-old Kristy Knapp for break and enter along with outstanding warrant.  34-year-old Darryl Ward was also arrested for Break and Enter.  Both remanded into custody.  

PEDESTRIAN STRUCK 

On May 8 at 12:51 p.m. on 50 Street a report of a 23-year-old female being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street.  EMS, Fire and RCMP attended.  Female was taken to hospital and subsequently transported to Edmonton by Stars. 

 MULTIPLE VEHICLES BROKEN INTO, TWO ARRESTED AFTER SEEN BURING & STRIPPING COPPER WIRE

On May 9 at 8:42 a.m. on 52 Avenue a report came in that someone broke into the Laundry room coin box.  Has been broken into on 2 previous occasions.  Approximately $300 in coins taken.  Possible suspect.

Just before 9 a.m. on 41A Avenue a complainant reported finding their parked truck with the door open and the center console having been gone through.  Papers strewn around.  Stolen items include approximately $325 taken from a wallet which was left behind, an Apple Tablet and a GPS.  

At 9:43 a.m. on 41A Avenue a complainant reported their vehicle broken into overnight.  Window broken.  Child car seat, Mountain Hardware backpack containing a gen 7 day timer, Dell Laptop and charger, mouse, fuel log, fuel cards, safety tickets, keys, registration and insurance, picture and miscellaneous hand tools stolen. Totalling approximately $5000 – $6000.

Just before 10 a.m. on 41 Street a complainant reported their truck being broken into sometime overnight.  Stolen items include a wallet with identification, $80 cash, debit and credit cards, $200 Winners card and $300 radio. Several of the stolen credit and debit cards were used for transactions in various places in Drayton Valley.   TD Visa transaction for $80, Company debit card transaction for $136, Personal debit card for $30.  Matter is still under investigation. 

At 1:05 p.m. on Township Road 494 in Brazeau County CPO reported seeing two males in a black Dodge truck were burning and stripping copper wire.  Members attended, two males arrested and charged for various offences including Possession of stolen property, weapons offences and drugs.  34 year old Jason Joncas and 30 year old Faron Olson have been charged.
