AGLC awards contract for online cannabis store development

EDMONTON — The Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission (AGLC) has awarded the contract to design its website for online cannabis sales once it becomes legal later this year.

OnX Enterprise Solutions was awarded a three-year contract for website development, implementation, and management services by the AGLC for online cannabis sales in Alberta.

“OnX’s multi-national client base, solid reputation, along with their extensive experience implementing thousands of information technology solutions throughout North America and the UK, were key deciding factors in our choice,” said Niaz Nejad, AGLC’s chief operating officer and vice president- gaming and cannabis, in a news release. “We are confident that the creation and management of Alberta’s online cannabis sales system is in good hands.”

The contract includes an option for extension of up to three additional terms of two years and one final term to provide services.
