ENDED: Fog advisory for Drayton Valley area

A fog advisory has been issued for Drayton Valley and surrounding area as near zero visibility in fog is expected or occurring.

According to Environment Canada areas of dense fog have formed in parts of western, central and southeastern Alberta this morning. These areas of fog may cause near zero visibility at times.

Affected areas include:

Brazeau Co. near Drayton Valley and Breton
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Alder Flats and Winfield
Co. of Wetaskiwin near Pigeon Lake
Leduc Co. near Calmar and Devon
Leduc Co. near Warburg Thorsby and Pigeon Lake
Ponoka Co. near Crestomere
Ponoka Co. near Rimbey Bluffton and Hoadley

Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility. If visibility is reduced while driving it’s suggested you turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Fog will dissipate later this morning.
