Red Deer’s Jocelyn Peterman joins Jennifer Jones rink for 2018-19

RED DEER- There will be a new look to Jennifer Jones’s Winnipeg team for the 2018-19 curling season with Red Deer native Jocelyn Peterman taking over at second.

Longtime Jones second Jill Officer has decided to take a step back from competitive curling, saying this is a decision that she had considered for quite some time. However, Officer will remain connected to the team and will stay on as the alternate player.

Peterman had been playing second for Chelsea Carey since 2016 until the team announced earlier this week they would be disbanding.

“I’m both thrilled and humbled by this opportunity,” says Peterman. ” I had so many great years curling with Chelsea, and learned so much with that team. I’m looking forward to learning more with Team Jones, but I know I have big shoes to fill.”

Peterman is a 2012 Canadian Junior champion and 2016 Scotties Tournament of Hearts Champion.

Jill Officer will be in the Team Jones lineup at the 2018 Ford World Women’s Curling Championship, March 17-25 in North Bay, Ontario.
