UPDATE: Arrest warrant issued in relation to Riverside Meadows shooting

Jan 31, 2018 | 10:49 AM

Red Deer RCMP have issued an arrest warrant for a man sought in relation to a shooting this month in Riverside Meadows.

Kareem Lujmea Cummings, 25, is wanted regarding the January 18 incident when shots were fired by several suspects in what police believe was a targeted incident.

A man and woman taken into custody during the initial investigation were later released. Red Deer RCMP continue to investigate.

Cummings (pictured) is wanted on numerous weapons charges including discharging a firearm. He is described as black, 6’ tall, 250 pounds, brown eyes, dark brown hair, and is often seen with short facial hair. Police say he may have an injury to one of his legs.

Citizens are warned not to approach Cummings if they see him and to instead call Red Deer RCMP immediately at 403-343-5575. If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or report it online at www.tipsubmit.com.

At this point in their ongoing investigations, RCMP do not believe the January 18 investigation is related to the search warrants that were executed at an apartment building in the Riverside Meadows neighbourhood yesterday (Jan. 30) which resulted in the RCMP Explosives Disposal Unit attending to disassemble a homemade device.
