Trial next year for young man charged in fatal Canada Day crash
A young man charged in a crash east of Red Deer that killed two people will go to trial next year.
It was late on the night of July 1, 2016 when a vehicle with five occupants crashed east of Red Deer near the intersection of Highway 595 and Range Road 261.
John Dolliver, 18, from Penhold and Ashleigh Smith, 16, from Springbrook were pronounced dead at the scene.
Two other occupants were taken to hospital with serious injuries while a third was treated and released.
