It’s 40 days in jail for a man charged after he was arrested in a stolen car with a gun and drugs.

It was just before 1 p.m. on Sept. 27 when the man and a woman were arrested in a Dodge Neon reported stolen from Red Deer. Officers seized a firearm, crack cocaine, pills and marijuana from the car.

Police had located the stolen car in Delburne earlier Tuesday morning, tracking it into Red Deer. Police waited until the vehicle was safely parked in a lot on Gaetz Avenue and 58 Street before arresting the male driver and female passenger without incident.

Jonathan Logan Donnelly, 33, was sentenced Monday in Red Deer court to 40 days in jail after he pleaded guilty to possession of stolen property, breach of conditions, and possession of an illegal substance. Several other counts against him were dropped.

Danelle Amber Rickett, 30, was sentenced last to 30 days in jail and 18 months’ probation after entering guilty pleas last October.
