Newlyweds arrested in Edmonton bar brawl

A bride and groom who stood and exchanged vows in Edmonton last weekend must now stand before a judge and explain how their nuptials turned into a brawl.

The couple — she in a wedding gown and he in a tuxedo — were arrested at a downtown bar Saturday night after what witnesses say was something similar to a saloon fight in a Hollywood Western.

Fists were swinging as people spilled out of the night spot before security got the crowd under control and police arrived to charge the bride with assault and the groom with mischief.

Both left the party after their release on a promise to appear in court.
