Riverlands construction update

Jun 22, 2017 | 7:37 AM

RED DEER- Over the past couple of months work has been taking place on the water trunk realignment project on 45 Street.

This is just one of many construction projects that will happen in the Riverlands area over the next few years.

The water trunk project started at the end of April, but work was recently stopped.

The City was reviewing the project to determine how best to proceed with the least impact to water pressure both in the Riverlands neighbourhood and surrounding neighbourhoods.

Work was scheduled to resume work this week.

Other construction activity will be picking up in mid-July and continue for most of this year and next.

It includes:

– Utility work along Alexander Way and the riverfront portion of 45 Street

– Road construction on the riverfront portion of 45 Street

– Site preparations for plaza spaces and Alexander Way

Residents with questions or concerns about construction is asked to contact the Engineering Department at 403-342-8158.
