Coinciding with the Commuter Challenge is Clean Air Day on June 7, and Red Deer Transit will be offering free transit all day on all routes.

“If you’re not already participating in the Commuter Challenge, Clean Air Day is a great day to give the planet a breather and take a walk, hop on your bike or take advantage of free transit,” said Lauren Maris, Environmental Program Specialist. “The transportation sector, including single-occupant vehicles, is one of the biggest contributors of greenhouse gas emissions, but small changes, such as changing commuting behaviour one day a week, can make a difference.”

Anyone who takes transit on June 7 can enter a contest for a chance to win a $50 Recreation, Parks and Culture gift card or a transit pass for the month of July. To enter, just look for the poster on the bus.
