Province announces $100M in funding for rural infrastructure projects

1) Twin culvert replacement on RR 25-2 at tributary to Parlby Creek
2) Culvert replacement on RR 1-0 at tributary to Blindman River
3) Culvert replacement on RR 24 at tributary to Rainy Creek

In Stettler County, about $42,000 will be spent on the following three projects:

1) Bridge maintenance at Twp. Road 36-0 near the village of Big Valley
2) Bridge maintenance at RR 17-5 near the hamlet of Red Willow
3) Bridge maintenance at Twp. Road 41-4 near the hamlet of Red Willow

In Ponoka County, $141,000 will go towards bridge maintenance over Battle River near the town of Ponoka.

In Red Deer County, $764,000 will be contributed to bridge replacement at Dogpound Creek at Twp. Road 284.

Another $23,000 will go towards paving at a rest stop near Bowden.

“STIP funding helps our rural and smaller urban municipalities sustain their local transportation infrastructure which contributes to a higher quality of life in these communities,” says Brian Mason, Transportation and Infrastructure Minister. “Investing in our towns and counties through STIP will not only ensure they have the roads and bridges they need to grow sustainably, but will also help to create good-paying construction and engineering jobs.”

The investment is projected to create more than 200 jobs across the province as work gets started.
