INNISFAIL- Town Council dealt with a number of issues at their last meeting.

Members awarded the contract for removal and disposal of sludge from the former wastewater lagoon to Global Enrivonmental Solutions for a value of $3,861,500.

The move is part of a multi-year plan to reclaim the former wastewater lagoon.

The project is expected to be completed by December of 2018.

Council also approved an amendment to the Town’s Planning and Development Fees Bylaw, which establishes fees for planning- related services, permits and approvals.

A new fee schedule is now in effect, and can be viewed at www.innisfail.ca/council.

And Phase 1 of the Innisfail and District Historical Society’s Sinclair House Project is receiving $10,000 in financial assistance.

The money, funded through the 2017 Budget Contingency, will be granted once the house has reached its foundation.
