Santa visits Red Deer to give the gift of life

Santa Claus made a stop in Red Deer on Friday to deliver an early Christmas present.

He visited Canadian Blood Services to give the gift of life by donating blood and encourage others to do the same this holiday season.

A positive step forward to treating skin cancer in central Alberta

Skin cancer patients in central Alberta now have surgical options in Red Deer.

Instead of travelling to Edmonton or Calgary for skin cancer surgery, Dr. Isaiah Day for the past few weeks has been offering the Mohs Micro-Graphic surgery at Innovation Dermatology in Red Deer.

Red Deer RCMP are hoping you can help them identify a suspect in a pharmacy break-in and theft last month.

The CP Holiday Train in Lacombe on Wednesday, December 6, 2017. The train features live music on board from Canadian entertainers and travels across most of the country each year collecting food and money for local food banks along the way. This year's entertainers included Colin James and Emma Lee.

A visit by the CP Holiday Train to central Alberta this week will go a long way toward feeding those in need this Christmas.

Recreation Centre to close for annual maintenance December 11

Red Deer’s Recreation Centre will be closed for annual maintenance starting Monday, December 11.

The shutdown will allow staff to conduct a thorough inspection and maintenance on all equipment and technical systems in the facility.
