Some temporary traffic pattern changes are coming as work on the QEII/Gaetz Avenue Interchange continues.

Starting Tuesday, a new set-up will be in effect along the QE II Highway, between Taylor Drive and south of Gaetz Avenue. Northbound QEII traffic will be detoured onto the southbound lanes where both northbound and southbound traffic will operate. Two lanes will be accommodated in each direction and traffic will be separated by concrete barriers.

As part of this temporary set-up, northbound Gaetz Avenue will be closed at the QEII. Northbound QEII traffic accessing Gaetz Avenue will be detoured onto Gasoline Alley East, then will re-join Gaetz Avenue where northbound Gasoline Alley East merges onto Gaetz Avenue.

Project officials say this new traffic set-up is required in order to complete the new northbound lanes for the QEII Highway and will be in effect until this fall.

Weather permitting, the QEII Hwy/Gaetz Avenue Interchange is scheduled to be complete in fall 2018.
