Veer making “special announcement” Wednesday

We’ll soon find out whether Tara Veer wants to occupy Red Deer’s mayor’s chair for a while longer.

The “Veer for Red Deer” campaign sent out a media release Tuesday morning saying they will be making a “special announcement” Wednesday at Veterans’ Park just after 11 a.m. 

Veer is nearing the end of her first term as Mayor. She defeated fellow former city councillor Cindy Jefferies along with William Horn, Chad Mason and William Trepanier in the 2013 municipal election. 

Prior to being elected as Mayor, Veer served three terms on City Council starting in 2004.
