A Day to Listen: Radio stations dedicate programming in name of reconciliation
In recognition of National Indigenous History Month, Pattison Media is joining other radio stations across the country on June 30 for A Day to Listen.
The initiative is in partnership with the Gord Downie & Chanie Wenjack Fund (DWF), and is a day dedicated to sharing stories from Indigenous leaders, residential school survivors, Elders, musicians, and teachers.
Our sister stations BIG 105.5 and 106.7 REWIND Radio will be sharing these stories each hour from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The collaboration follows the announcements that the remains of 215 children were buried at and recovered from the site of the former Kamloops Indian Residential School. Since then, the Cowessess First Nation in Saskatchewan has announced another 751 unmarked graves at a cemetery near the former Marieval Indian Residential School.
