Drayton Valley RCMP weekly report: July 16-23

July 16

9:58 am – Brazeau County – RR 81 – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Ex is refusing to give son their personal papers. Member contacted the complainant then attended the residence of ex who provided documents which were subsequently turned over to rightful owner.

1:52 pm – Brazeau County – Poplar Ridge Trailer court – Complainant requesting assistance with the serving of an eviction notice on tenant. Member attended and kept the peace while document served.

7:11 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant advising that they observed three males in the parking lot of the TD bank. Males appeared suspicious as they were in a Grey Ford Ranger with the back window broken. Males were yelling. Member attended and spoke with the complainant who advised the males had attempted to open the door to the bank. One had a crow bar in their hand. Vehicle had left prior to arrival, no licence plate obtained. Patrols were negative.

10:02 pm – Violet Grove – complainant advising that there is a known male at their door yelling and looking for a fight. Suspect is upset as they have been insulting each other on Facebook. Member attended and spoke with the complainant and the suspect. Both were advised to block each other. Suspect was advised not to attend complainant’s residence or charges could be laid.

10:16 pm – Drayton Valley – 46 Street – Complainant reporting ex came to their door and they opened it not knowing it was ex. Ex stole their bank card. Matter is related to call received the previous evening. Member located male a short distance away who returned bank card.

July 17

3:11 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a disturbance in the park. Occupants at park are yelling and being loud. Members attended and located female who was singing and looking for Wi-Fi. Members escorted female home.

8:25 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Theft from an unlocked vehicle overnight. A level and bank cards were taken from complainants 2019 black Dodge Ram and were attempted to be used at various locations in town without success.

1:18 pm – Drayton Valley – Complainant received a fraudulent phone call from the CRA stating they were in trouble and to pay with pre-paid cards or a warrant would be issues. Be reminded that the CRA does not issue arrest warrants and will never ask for funds via pre-paid gift cards over the phone.

2:49 pm – Brazeau County – Near Cynthia – Report of stolen copper wire from a lease site, suspect truck stuck nearby. Police attended, vehicle was abandoned there, matter is under investigation.

6:44 pm – Brazeau County – RR 73 – Sometime in the past few days a red 2011 Dodge Ram 2500, Alberta license plate BXD2763, and a white Gulfstream 27’ bumper pull travel trailer, Alberta license plate 5HA054 were stolen from a residence.

July 18

8:46 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Avenue – Complaint of harassment via email. Both parties spoken to and warned to cease unwanted communication.

11:41 pm – Brazeau County – Violet Grove – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle believed to be scoping out the area. Complainant reported two occupants in a dark color older Dodge Dakota single cab were parked and threw a can out the window. Vehicle was observed in several locations around complainants property. Police attended but were unable to locate the vehicle.

July 19

11:40 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 620 – Complainant reporting a suspicious vehicle with two females. Vehicle is a van that appears to be stuck. Drug paraphernalia observed on front seat. Member attended and located vehicle. Vehicle being towed out.

3:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 50 Street – Complainant reporting an intoxicated male entered the store. Employee refused to serve male. Male left and female entered and was verbally abusive to employee. Both left in a gold minivan. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

7:55 pm – Drayton Valley – Known male is calling the RCMP detachment advising their apartment is bugged and being monitored. Member attended and calmed complainant down. Complainant is suffering from paranoia. Ongoing issue.

July 20

8:06 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Street – Complainant reporting an attempted break and enter to residence and theft of trailer overnight. Complainant woke to find the back door of his residence open and their white 12 foot enclosed Haulmark utility trailer stolen. Several tools and camping equipment were also stolen.

10:43 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 759 – Complainant reporting a pewter GMC truck towing a orange and black 24’ trailer had been speeding and lost a tire. Members patrolled the area and located the vehicle and trailer. Driver was replacing the tire and stated that it fell off while driving.

2:03 pm – Lodgepole area – Complainant reporting that there is an abandoned truck in the bush for the past month.

10:15 pm – Drayton Valley – Econorest – Complainant reporting an assault with a baseball bat. Members attended, both parties very intoxicated and could not provide a clear statement. No contact order in place. Offending party arrested.

July 21

12:17 am – Brazeau County – RR 72 – Complainant reporting a family dispute. Complainant stated that while they were away at work, their now ex, packed up all their stuff and is refusing to tell them where it is. Is locked out of the residence. Members attended, nothing physical, just wanted their belongings. Member provided a courtesy ride home.

6:32 am – Drayton Valley – Complainant reporting they caught a male and female attempting to syphon gas from their work trucks into a grey GMC Yukon. Members patrolled the area with negative results.

6:33 am – Drayton Valley – 58 Avenue – Complainant reporting they observed a male attempting to gain entry into company vehicles. Suspect vehicle description matches previous complaint.

5:52 pm – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Complainant calling to report a break and enter to an apartment. Shoes had been tampered with. Members attended, complainant suffering from drug induced paranoia.

July 22

3:04 am – Drayton Valley – 53 Avenue – Known complainant reporting a suspicious box in residence that doesn’t belong to them. Member attended, box contained random papers.

7:09 am – Brazeau County – Hwy 624 – Several calls received regarding a overturned semi truck. Member attended, minor injuries, nothing leaking, both truck and trailer were off the road, no issues.

10:09 pm – Drayton Valley – 49 Avenue – Complainant reporting harassment over the rejection of animal adoption. Complainant advised that they rejected a request to adopt a snake. Person upset over rejection and continues to contact the shelter. Member contacted the person who agreed to stop contacting them and advised they were going to call the humane society over the treatment of reptiles at the shelter.

July 23

12:18 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting a male trespassing on the property. Male is taking apart a bike . Member patrolled area, and located person who was advised to move on.

3:40 am – Drayton Valley – 44 Street – Complainant reporting ex broke into their house by sliding the screen on a window. Ex has since left but stole complainants cell phone. Member attended and located ex who swapped their x-box for the phone.

6:35 am – Drayton Valley – 52 Avenue – Complainant reporting vandalism and theft from their vehicle overnight. Two windows were knocked out.
