Parsons House officially sold to province, future still uncertain
Historic Parsons House in downtown Red Deer now officially belongs to the province.
Ministry of Infrastructure spokesperson Jennifer Burgess says the deal went through on June 29. Financial terms of the transaction remain confidential.
To this point, no decision has been made on what will happen to the house, which was designated as a Municipal Historic Resource in 1990.
Burgess says Infrastructure Minister Sandra Jansen, as well as local MLAs Kim Schreiner and Barb Miller, have listened to community members on both the infrastructure needs of the community and what the public is saying about Parsons House’s fate.
