Mr. William Custer of Red Deer passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the age of 85 years. William was born at Nana’s house in Saskatchewan and was the youngest of seven children. He went on to become a heavy duty mechanic and was well respected in his field. Many farmers and friends would call him for advice or help even after hours. He generously used his ability to repair anything to help others. He and his wife, Esther, together made many beautiful things to benefit the Parkinson’s Society. Together they enjoyed many years wintering in Arizona. William will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 55 years, Esther, children; Glen (Kim) Custer, Cheryl (Michael) Williams, Rochelle (Glenn) Schultz, and David (Sarah Fillier) Custer, two siblings; Vern Custer and Eva Rayner, and many extended family members and friends. At William’s request, there will be no service. Memorial donations in William’s honor may be made directly to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Avenue, Red Deer, Alberta, T4R 3S6 , or to the donor’s choice.
