It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of William “Bill Alexander Stevenson, on February 19, 2026, a beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, who joyfully embraced life until his last moments. Bill, aged 92, departed from us peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, love, and cherished memories.
Born in Edmonton and raised in our community around the Lockhart area, Bill had a passion for sports that inspired many around him. Whether cheering for his favorite teams or playing games with friends, his enthusiasm was contagious. He believed in the power of teamwork and sportsmanship, values he instilled in his children and all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
As a devoted husband to his wife, Loraine, for 66 wonderful years, Bill exemplified what it meant to be a faithful partner. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures. Their bond was a testament to enduring love and companionship.
Bill was an amazing dad to his four children, 13 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren, nurturing the parents when he sensed the need, with balance and encouragement. He took great pride in their achievements and supported them through life’s challenges, always emphasizing the importance of kindness, integrity, and resilience, not only by word, but especially by example.
A memorial service celebrating Bill’s life will be held at the Blindman Valley Agriculture Center, Bentley AB on Saturday, February 28, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. Friends and family are invited to join us in honoring a man who truly enjoyed life and made a positive impact on everyone he met.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to a local charity of choice in Bill’s memory.
Bill Stevenson will be deeply missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of his loved ones as they look forward to seeing him again when it is their turn to cross over to their eternal Hope!
Condolences to Bill’s family may be emailed to meaningful@telus.net. Please indicate “Bill Stevenson” in the subject line.
