Vince Martinoski passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Regional Hospital at the age of 88 on July 28, 2023.
Vince was born in Esterhazy, Saskatchewan. His family moved west and homesteaded in Red Deer County in 1942 where he resided for 80 years. In 1958, he married Arlene and had three children.
In his early years, Vince worked in the lumber and construction industries in British Columbia and Alberta. He became a full time farmer in the Red Deer and Rimbey areas, grain farming and running a cow/calf operation. When the work was done, laughter and friends were a big part of his life. Many were on the receiving end of a good prank. There was always time for a drop in visit, a game of crib, and a place at the table. A well stocked pantry of his home preserves was very important to him. And being able to share these brought him enjoyment. Vince had a gift for making anyone who came into his life feel like family. He enjoyed winter holidays, camping, and exploring new places with family and friends.
Vince is survived by his son Keith (Karen), daughter Gale (Ernie), son Darryl, and his granddaughters Leah and Elise.
Vince was predeceased by his wife Arlene, sister Bunny (Peter), his parents Joe and Betty, companion Joanne, cherished in-laws, and close friends.
The family would like to thank the Red Deer Regional Hospital units 31 and 32, Innisfail Rosefield long term care and Just Like Family Home Care for all their care and patience.
An open house will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating directly to the Red Deer Regional Hospital Unit 31 in honour of Vince.
