VERNON CARL STOLARYK
On Thursday, May 8, 2025, Vern passed away suddenly and without suffering while at work with his son, Rob.
Vern was born on July 16, 1960, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. He was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Alice. He is survived by and lovingly remembered by his wife, Cherie; his sons, Rob and Jeff (Sarah); his grandchildren, Kadie, Dakota, and Drake; his sisters, Shirley (Jack), and Lenore (Kim); nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.
Vern took pride in being a hard-working, industrious, responsible, and productive person, striving for excellence in all he set his hand to do. His legacy of provision, care, and wisdom lives on through the family he raised and was a part of. He showed his love through his actions, evident by the strength and stability that allowed his family to prosper, and his 42-year marriage to Cherie to serve as the foundation and example. He was a person well respected for his integrity, pragmatism, and dependability, by all who knew him.
Vern became a carpenter at a young age, learning the trade as it was passed down by his father. Excelling early on, it became his career and central to his identity for five decades. Both of Vern’s sons inherited his strengths and aptitudes, becoming successful in the trades themselves. Outside of his career, Vern always enjoyed being productive, meticulously maintaining his home, restoring his beloved first car, and having a practical solution to solving just about any problem. While Vern’s default state was to stay busy, he also created many laughs and memories at family gatherings, time alone with his wife, and while engaged with friends and colleagues.
A private memorial and celebration of life will be arranged by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vern’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
The family extends gratitude to Red Deer Emergency Services for their efforts and grace during Vern’s final moment.
