It is with heartfelt sorrow, that we announce the unexpected passing of Trey William Purdie, Wednesday, September 20, 2017 at the age of 20 years. Trey was born September 7, 1997 in Red Deer, Alberta and raised in the Valley Center Community. He was a driven young gentleman with a promising future. An apprenticing electrician, who’s heart truly lay at home on the ranch, he was a humble cowboy with big dreams. Trey had a deep love for his rodeo life and was a very accomplished competitor. Trey will be fondly remembered by his loving parents, Trevor and Roberta Purdie, sister, Jessica Purdie and brother, Lane Purdie, all of Valley Centre, Alberta. He will also be deeply missed and cherished by his paternal grandparents, Rob and Lynda Purdie of Valley Centre, his maternal grandparents, Wayne and Lynn Ballhorn of Yorkton, Saskatchewan. Aunts and uncles, Brent and Tanya Purdie, Rod and Jodie Purdie, all of Valley Centre, Michael Ballhorn, Colleen and Larry Sonnenberg, Tom and Erin Ballhorn; as well as numerous cousins and a multitude of friends. A Celebration of Trey’s Life will be held at CrossRoads Church, Corner of 32 Street and Highway 2A, 38105 Range Road 275, Red Deer County, Alberta on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Don Wudel officiating. Cremation entrusted to Parkland Funeral Home and Crematorium, Red Deer, Alberta. A Scholarship Trust Fund will be announced at Trey’s Life Celebration.
