Timothy Hugh Richard Klohn of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on Friday, October 1, 2021 at the age of 66 years.
Tim was a multi-faceted individual with many interests and talents. He was an aviator, artist, music aficionado, dog lover, explorer, husband, father and grandfather.
A career pilot, Tim flew for Air Canada and Sunwest Aviation. If it had wings, he could fly it! His Pitts Special aerobatic biplane was his pride and joy.
Tim was a gifted oil painter who trained at Red Deer College. He maintained an art studio next to his hangar in Ponoka, Alberta, where he would paint landscapes, portraits and, of course, aircraft.
Tim was a music aficionado with an ear for the timeless. He would spend hours listening to the classic works of Mozart and CKUA’s Friday Night Blues Party.
Tim was a dog man who appreciated the company of his four-legged friends. His beloved Sally and Sadie accompanied him everywhere he went!
Tim and his wife Linda loved to walk and explore the outdoors, both by foot and by air. They were known to enjoy leisurely flights in their Piper Tomahawk, soaring over scenic Gull Lake on quiet evenings.
Tim and Linda also loved to host their kids! The grandkids often joined them for “soup Sundays” or Saturday morning breakfasts at a number of their favourite haunts.
Tim loved his daughter, Jennifer, with all of his heart and cherished spending time with her and her family. Tim was a stepdad to Charlene, Allison, Nicholas and Laura; in them he cultivated his love of art, aviation, music and animals.
Tim was a grandfather to Ryland and Madden (Jenn and Joel); Bennett, Gavin and McKinley, with whom he shared a birthday (Charlene and Tyler); Sienna and Camille (Allison); and Elliot and Sullivan (Nicholas and Toni). Tim encouraged mayhem and merriment in equal measure!
In addition to his aviation career, Tim loved delivering pizza for Pizza 73 and had many friends there.
Tim was a man of deep faith. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints who looked forward to meeting his Lord and Saviour!
Tim will be missed and never forgotten!
Tim is lovingly remembered by his wife Linda; his daughter Jennifer (Joel) Hildebrandt and her mother Ann Meunier; his stepdaughters Charlene (Tyler) Love and Allison Cullen; his stepson Nicholas (Toni) Saik; his stepdaughter Laura Saik; his grandchildren Ryland and Madden Hildebrandt, Bennett, Gavin and McKinley Love, Sienna Norman, Camille Carpentier, and Elliot and Sullivan Saik; his brothers Brian Klohn (Geraldine) and David Klohn (Angelle); his sisters Carol Sefcik and Karen Rudolph; his mother Jean Klohn; his many nieces and nephews; and his canine companions Sally and Sadie. Tim was predeceased by his father, Alwin Frank Klohn.
