Terry Richard Reindl, 73, of Caroline, Alberta, passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2021, with his two daughters by his side.
Sadly he will be missed by his children, grandchildren, family and friends. Terry is survived by his five children, Step-Daughter Cheri & Don Starko, Daughter Andrea Reindl, Son Kevin & Ashley Reindl, Son Nathan & Kaylee Reindl, and Daughter Natalie Reindl. His grandchildren, Julien McLean, Melaina McLean, Max Reindl, Pierce Reindl, Masynn Reindl, Nolan Reindl, and Carys Reindl. His Mother Ann Reindl, and his siblings Dennis, Mary-Ann, Jeanne, Susan, Dorothy, Rose, Frank, and many other family members, including spouses, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Paul and his brother Tom.
Terry, the eldest son of Paul and Ann Reindl was born in Davenport, Iowa, in 1948 and moved to Alberta with his family when he was 14. In 1975, Terry and his brother Dennis bought the Boundary Service west of Caroline, Alberta. He stayed there and raised his family, only moving in 1999 when he couldn’t live on his own anymore.
While Terry had a long career in seismic and computer programming, his real love was fishing, hunting, and being outdoors. He spent his free time with his brothers out in the mountains of Alberta, guiding, hunting, fishing, and camping. After he had children, his favorite way to spend time with them was outside enjoying nature.
Terry had a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis and since 2004 had been a resident at Bethany Collegeside in Red Deer. While it wasn’t easy, Terry made the most of his situation, even when his body wouldn’t allow him to do the things he loved. Terry fought hard in his battle with Multiple Sclerosis, and in the end, pneumonia was his final battle.
Thank you to the incredible staff at the Red Deer Hospital, who were heroes for all of us in his last 24 hours. Thank you to the excellent staff at Bethany Collegeside, who looked after and cared for our Dad for his last 17 years.
In place of flowers, donations in honour of Terry can be made to Bethany Collegeside for patient comfort items, Salvation Army Canada, or The Canadian Red Cross.
A celebration of life will be held when social gatherings allow.
