1946 – 2025
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Susan Jean Dumont on February 19, 2025.
Born and raised on a farm near Aneroid, Saskatchewan, Susan carried the values of hard work, kindness, and family with her throughout her life. She married the love of her life, Don Dumont, in 1968 in Saskatchewan. Together, they moved to Red Deer, where they built a warm and loving home and raised their family.
Susan worked many dedicated years at Safeway, Wolco, Nutters, and Walmart, where she was known for her friendly smile and strong work ethic. She had a deep love of gardening, a loyal bond with her beloved dog Tango, and affection for the many cats that kept her company over the years. But nothing brought her more joy than supporting her family, especially cheering them on in sports and spending time with her grandchildren.
Susan is lovingly remembered by her children Trent (Luisa) Dumont and Nicole Dumont, and her cherished grandchildren: Alexus Dumont,Kayla (Shaye)Callin, Ava Raffan , extended grandchildren Kaylie, Anthony, Colby and Jayde. She is also survived by her sister Judy and brother Greg.
She is predeceased by her husband Don Dumont (1996), great grandchild Beck, her parents Max and Ellen Eddy, and her sister Kathy.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, followed by interment at Alto Reste Cemetery. A luncheon in Susan’s memory will take place at the Balmoral Community Hall.
Susan will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered for her unwavering support, her warmth, and the deep love she gave to her family and friends.
