It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Steven Todd Rasmussen, who passed away on Friday October 1st at the Red Deer Regional Hospital (Palliative Care Unit), at the age of 50.
He will always be dearly loved by his partner Krysa, his parents Marlene and Bart, His sisters Tamera (Brett) and Donna (Mikael), and his brother Curtis (Leah), who cherished him more than mere words could express. He was the proud uncle of 10 nieces and nephews and was beloved by a large extended family.
Steven attended school in Thornhill, Ontario, as well as St. Albert, Alberta, before graduating from Red Deer College where he studied music and it was his world. Steven had an abundant love for animals, the outdoors, cycling, fishing, gardening, cooking, and camping. Many times, he would pack up his jeep along with his pup “Natures”, and head out for an overnight adventure.
There was no one with a kinder heart. He is gone far too soon, and is forever loved.
A very special thank you to nurse Tanya and the staff in the Emergency Department as well as the staff on unit 32 of the hospital, for their kindness and care.
There is no scheduled celebration of life at this time. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Central Alberta Humane Society, a cause Steven would Champion.
