It is with extreme sadness that the family of Siu Sheung Tam announces her passing on January 31, 2018, at the age of 85. She passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Wetaskiwin Hospital.
Siu was born on July 21, 1932, in Canton, China. At the age of 19, she married her beloved husband, Tat Fai Lam, and they happily raised 4 children together. In 1992, they moved to live with family in Red Deer, where they enjoyed making new friends, learning the Canadian lifestyle, and traveling. Siu was an outgoing person who loved socializing with friends and playing mah jong. She was baptized in 2011 and enjoyed going to church with her friends. She loved to learn new things and had many hobbies including tai chi, cooking, and gardening. She took pleasure in traveling to Los Angeles and Hong Kong, where she would stay for extended periods with family. Most of all, Siu took great pride in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was a special part of her family’s lives, had many lasting friendships, and will be greatly missed.
Siu was predeceased by her loving husband, Tat. She leaves to mourn, her children, Gidget (Tin), Ava (Gary), Andrew (Shirley), and Ian (Aubrey); grandchildren, Carine (Jacky), Carmen, Rena (Aaron), Yume (Simon), Rayan, Jerry (Crystal), Mandy (Albert), Jolie, and Katie; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Good Samaritan Good Shepherd Home in Wetaskiwin for their care the past three years.
