It is with deep profound sadness that we announce the passing of Simone April Hughes. She passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023 at the young age of 64 at the Red Deer Regional Hospital.

Simone is survived by her son Tyler (Terri), daughter Morgan (Matt) and her grandchildren Norah and Alexis, father Lyle (Lorraine) and brothers; Shawn (Margaret), Shane (Tanya), cousins, aunts and uncles.

She was predeceased by her mother, Pauline.

Simone was born on August 17, 1958 in Calgary, Alberta. She was blessed with many roles in her life including being a mother and librarian, but most of all she loved being a Nana after the birth of her two grandchildren. Simone truly enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with friends and family and was very talented and creative with her arts and crafts.  She struggled with severe rheumatoid arthritis in her later years, but always lived with a positive outlook on life.

We would like to thank all the staff at the Red Deer Regional Hospital for all their support and kindness.

 

As per Simone’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral, but the family intends to arrange a celebration of her life at a later date.
