Rudolph Harold Rempel, known to many as “Rudy”, of Three Hills, Alberta passed away at the Three Hills Hospital on August 23, 2026 at the age of 83 years.

On September 19, 1942, on a farm near Herbert, Saskatchewan, Rudy was born to Peter and Annie, becoming the second eldest of seven children.  At age 15, the family moved to Silver Creek, BC where they began a dairy farm.  Rudy was unable to finish High School due to an accident, forcing him to help his father on the dairy.  However, following in the footsteps of his older sister, he attended Millar Memorial Bible Institute in 1964 where he met his wife Sandra (predeceased) and married her a year later on April 10, 1965.  Together, hearts united to serve others and proclaim the name of Jesus, they, with empty pockets but hearts full of faith, began to step out on daring adventures.

Ministering to the Aboriginal People groups of Loon Lake, Onion Lake, and Frog Lake, they held multiple church services a day in the surrounding areas.  Three children, a daughter and two sons were added to their lives during this time. Feeling a need for further biblical instruction and desiring to know more about the Holy Spirit, Rudy moved his family to attend the Full Gospel Bible Institute in Eston, SK.  Upon graduation, Rudy pastored in Minnedosa, MB (71-72) and then in Dapp, AB (73-76).  Two more daughters were born to him during his pastoring years.

In 1980, Rudy moved to Killam, Alberta where he began his successful, award winning, years as a salesman: first selling tools and equipment to farmers and then selling Frantz Oil Filters.  In 1988; however, God began to impress upon him to buy a bus.  The ministry of bussing turned out to be his absolute joy!  He bussed for churches, mission groups, choirs and bands.  In 33 years of bussing, he drove mission teams to Mexico 70 times!  He would often stop to pick up hitchhikers when the bus was empty and shared with them the hope of Jesus Christ.  It was these cherished memories of his bussing “family” he most spoke about in his final days. It truly was an enduring accomplishment.

Rudy loved nature, birds in particular, and studying the Bible.  He loved to teach the Bible, leading or participating in countless home studies and churches. He was known for his generosity to charities that touched his heart, mostly the ones who ministered to the “least of these.” Rudy never ceased in speaking about Jesus, his Saviour, to those around him, friends and strangers alike.  And now, the greatest of all truths: he is with Him-face to face.

Rudy is survived by sons Daryle (Amy), and Trevor; daughters Darlene, Lorilynn (Kevin), and Twyla (Carman); brothers Hilder and Gerald and sisters Dorothy and Eleanor. Rudy is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren as well as numerous extended family members and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Sandra; parents Peter and Annie; brother Arthur and sister Viola.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Impact Life Church, 20 – Kellaway Cr., Red Deer AB on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
