RUBY NEMETH
Obituary
Ruby Ingeborg Nemeth passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 91.
Ruby was born to Henry and Tena Letkemen, and was raised in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan. Ruby is survived by her husband, Jack, her three children Penny (Richard), Jack Jr. (Daphne), and Crystal (John), six cherished grandchildren, as well as her older sister, Verna (Clinton). She was preceded in death by her siblings Eldon (Honora), Norman (Olga), Gordon (Helen), and Marion (Roy).
Ruby completed her Grade 12 education and, in 1956, joined the Royal Canadian Air Force as a Fighter Control Operator (FCO), serving until 1958. During her time in the RCAF, Ruby met her husband, Jack G. Nemeth. They were married on November 15, 1957, and together they raised their three children.
Penny, their oldest, married Richard Johnson (rural Delburne), and together they have a son, Kirk. Jack Jr. married Daphne (Red Deer), and they have three sons: Brenden, Colby, and Levi. Their youngest daughter, Crystal, married John Bollinger (Camano Island, Washington), and they have two daughters: Sara and Ruby.
Throughout Jack’s Air Force career, Ruby supported her husband and family as they moved to various postings across Canada and into the US. After Jack’s retirement from the military, the couple settled on a farm in Manning, Alberta, eventually retiring to a peaceful acreage near Delburne, Alberta.
Ruby was known for her warm personality, her welcoming home, and her ever-present smile. She loved visiting with friends and family, tending to her garden, preserving the harvest, growing flowers, knitting, and finding joy in the simple things. Ruby was also a curling enthusiast and travelled to watch several of the Tournament of Hearts and Briar curling events and was a member of the Delburne Seniors Curling Club. She had a gift for making others feel at ease and a home feel inviting. In husband Jack’s words, “She was the best wife a man could ever have.”
Ruby’s kindness, strength, and love for her family will be deeply missed. She will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
