Royden “Roy” Clifford Maddock

Royden “Roy” Clifford Maddock, of Red Deer AB, loving husband to Lorraine Maddock and father to Cliff Maddock passed away on April 28, 2019 at the age of 73 years. Roy was born in Eckville AB. He moved into Red Deer in March of 1969 and in 1991, he married Lorraine. Roy drove truck for the better part of 40 years before retiring in 2008. He drove for 2 companies in those 40 years, Alpha Dairy’s and his own company, Roy’s Trucking. He did take a small break from driving to be partner in a cement finishing business for a couple years, but the open road kept calling him back. This is when he started his own company and it resulted in nearly 30 years hauling trailers out of Red Deer for the RV manufacture Travelair Trailers. Roy is survived by his wife Lorraine of Red Deer; son Cliff (Virginia) Maddock of Calgary; stepsons Ray (Darlene) Trimble of Cochrane, Mark (Gerry) Bednarek of Lloydminster and grandchildren Colt Dalton & Jesse Ryan Maddock, Melissa Pauline Trimble, Jessica Rene Vervoort, Ashely Sierra & Tawnie Marie & Nickolas Shawn Bednarek as well as numerous other family members and friends. Roy was predeceased by his parents Gladys and Russel Maddock and sister Myrtle Skeels. An interment service will be held at the Alto Reste Cemetery on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made directly to the Lung Association of Alberta, PO Box 4500, Stn South, Edmonton AB T6E 9Z9.
