It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ross Janke on April 19, 2020 at the age of 47. Ross passed away peacefully in the company of his beloved brothers.
Ross was born in Quebec City on July 30, 1972 to Louise Janke (Riddoch) and Gordon Riddoch. In 1975, they moved to Wetaskiwin where Louise married Alfred Janke. Alfred adopted the triplets, Ross, Todd and Glenn and their older brothers Scott and Ken. Alfred then moved them to the family farm in Kneehill, Alberta. Ross shared so many wonderful memories of growing up on the farm. His heart never left the farm. He had so many happy memories there.
In the 90s they moved to Bowden, Alberta. After Louise’s passing Ross moved back home and cared for his father until his passing. Ross’ love for his father knew no bounds.
In 1998 Ross met his loving partner Janice and moved to Innisfail with his son Brandon and daughter Alexandra whom he loved and adored. Ross and Janice shared 22 years together. They shared many happy times camping, enjoying fires in the back yard, and enjoying the outdoors. He loved toting the kids to school on his back.
In September 2008, Ross met the light of his life, his real true love, his puppy Murphy. They had a bond beyond belief. They were inseparable. Everywhere you saw Ross you were sure to see Murphy.
Ross had many friends in Didsbury where he attended high school. Their bond remained strong throughout Ross’ life.
Ross’ family was the most important thing in his life. He adored his brothers and missed his mother and father every day. His humour could make everyone laugh. He was always telling jokes, dancing and the being the life of the party.
Ross had a love for photography and took beautiful pictures. He had an eye for taking something ordinary and turning it into something beautiful. He saw the beauty in everything and everyone. To know him was to love him.
Ross is survived by his loving partner Janice, their children Alexandra and Brandon, his brothers Ken(Cheryl), Todd and Glenn, his sister Brandi-Lee, his brother-in-law David, nephews Vincent and Alex, and his niece Arianna. He will also be fondly remembered by Janice’s sisters Carol and Gail and Carol’s children Alyssa and Chanda.
Ross was predeceased by his parents Alfred and Louise Janke, his brother Scott Janke and his biological father Gordon Riddoch.
If desired, memorial donations may be made to your local SPCA.
A celebration of Ross’ life will be announced in the future.
