It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Mary Seniuk (nee Basor) Friday, Sept 27, 2024 at the age of 84. Mary was born in Winnipeg to parents Milan and Josephine Basor, the fourth of five siblings.
She will be deeply missed by her husband Bill, Children John (Sue), Bill Jr (Christy) Debbie (Larry), Grandchildren Jennifer, Matthew, Brad, Jack, Megan (Graham) Mandy (Liam) Great-grandson Reece, sister Adele (Phil) sister in law Cathy, brother in law Steve, nieces, nephews and many, many, friends.
She was pre-deceased by her parents Milan and Josephine, her siblings, John, Mikey, Bernice and brother in law Gordon.
Mary grew up in the north end of Winnipeg where she met Bill, the love of her life, they married and had 3 children.
She worked as a data entry operator at Eaton’s warehouse and other various part time jobs in the food industry. The family then moved to Dawson Creek, BC in the early 80’s where they managed Mr. Mikes. She then decided to go back to school to pursue a diploma in Social Services. She worked for a number of years at the Mizpah Transition House.
Mary and Bill moved from Dawson Creek in 94’ and settled in Red Deer, Alberta. She worked part time at Costco and at the same time decided to take more courses but this time in psychology. She then worked for Catholic Children Services where she worked with clients attending to their needs. She was active in her church, Sacred Heart Catholic Church where she made many friends. At the age of 75 Mary finally decided it was time to retire!
Mary enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She loved traveling around the country with her husband. Her love was bingo, casino and having a glass of wine with friends. She would love to have everyone that knew her to raise a glass of wine in her memory. In many of her texts of late she would always remind us that she loved us all very much and end with, REMEMBER THAT! And THAT we will! ❤️
To honor Rosemary’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. I invite you to please privately celebrate her memory in your own way.
