Rose Marie Getz (Green, Williams)

It is with great sadness we announce Rose passed away peacefully at the Red Deer Hospice on July 3, 2019 at the age of 81 years.
Rose was born in Calgary, Alberta and adopted at six weeks old by Alec and Mamie Green of Bingley. Rose was raised in the Bingley, Oras and Joffre areas. After completing her hairdressing course, she opened a hairdressing shop in Lacombe. In 1959 she married Wilf Williams of Mirror; they resided in Lacombe and had a family of three children.
Rose changed careers and worked for a period at Canada Trust and later the Scotiabank in Red Deer. In 1987 she married Edward Getz of Delburne. They resided on the farm in the Cumberland area until moving to Red Deer, where Rose resided to the time of her passing.
Rose is survived by three children, Vance Williams and family, Terry Williams and family, and Brenda Williams; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her extended family brothers Wayne Cookshaw and Jack Marr, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Rose was predeceased by her second husband, Edward Getz, in 2013; parents Alec and Mamie Green; brothers Kenneth Green, Allan Green and her extended family brother Norman Cookshaw.
A Celebration of Life for Rose will be held on Tuesday, July 16, 2019 at the Delburne Community Hall at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to the Red Deer Hospice Society, 99 Arnot Ave, Red Deer, AB, T4R 3S6.
