Rose Kelbert

On May 16, 2023, Rose Kelbert (Wurch) passed away peacefully at Michener Extendicare in Red Deer, Alberta. She was born on August 23, 1923 in St. Ouens, Manitoba.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edward; parents, Wanda and Adolph Wurch; sisters, Frieda, Alice, Edna, and Lily; brothers, Albert, Leonard, George, and Irvin. Rose is survived by sisters, Velma, Norma, and Sadie; daughters, Hanna, Lois (Norman), Gail (Vince); and sons, Timothy (Lucille), and David; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jonathan, Lisa, Carolyn, Natasha, and Charissa.
Rose and husband Edward pioneered two churches, one in Dryden, ON, and the other in Red Deer, AB. Rose was compassionate towards people in need, spending time in visitation and was a very caring pastor’s wife. She was a devoted mother to her five children, teaching them to be honorable, applying Godly principles to their lives; she planned and prepared for regular family gatherings. Rose loved music and ensured that it was a big part of family life. As an older sibling, she encouraged her brothers and sisters to follow God.
Rose loved to garden, and no matter where she settled, established a large vegetable garden. She also enjoyed tending flowers, and had many varieties of perennials and annuals. Rose enjoyed bird watching and feeding the birds.
A Celebration of Life for Rose Kelbert will be held at Michener Extendicare, Red Deer at a date yet to be determined.
