Rosalie Cobbe of Red Deer, Alberta passed away at the Red Deer Hospice on September 21, 2022 at the age of 60 years.
Rose was born in 1962 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan and raised in Lethbridge, Alberta. She was 18 when she began dating the love of her life, Joe Cobbe. The couple went on to welcome three daughters: Brandy Lynn (born 1981), Tia Marie Daphne (1985) and Shelby Rose (1992). The family moved to Red Deer once the children came along. Rose and Joe were together for a remarkable 42 years – 33 of them in marriage.
Rose worked as a caretaker for Red Deer Public School District for 28 years and was a member of CUPE. She had a well-earned reputation as a hard worker who took pride in a job well done. Outside of work and family, she enjoyed 5-pin bowling in a women’s league at Heritage Lanes. Gardening and flowers were also a passion of hers – no surprise given her nurturing nature.
Rose was a very kind person who never had anything bad to say about anybody. She will be missed but never forgotten.
Rose is lovingly remembered by her husband Darcy (Joe) Cobbe; daughters Brandy Lynn Cobbe, Tia Marie Daphne Cobbe and Shelby Rose Cobbe; grandchildren Austin, Blissannie, Tayt-Lynn and Ayden; brothers Terry (Laurie), Dan (Marlene) and Roger (Cindy); sisters Elaine (Dean), Madelaine (Ron) and Carol (Wade); brother-in-law George Cobbe, nephew Jason Coleman and family; sister-in-law Faye Coleman and her daughter Loretta Schaufele; and extended family and friends. She was predeceased by her parents David (1986) and Anna Doerksen (2014); mother-in-law Bliss (1996) and father-in-law Bill (1999); and brothers-in-law Murray (1996), Dale (2015) and his wife Heather (2015), and Lloyd (2018) and his wife Shirley (2018).
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
