Ronda Jane Brucker

Ronda Jane Brucker – mother, grandmother, daughter, and friend – passed away Monday April 6, 2020 at her home in Red Deer, Alberta at the age of 60 years after a long struggle with multiple ailments. Ronda is remembered for her warm smile, loving heart, and fondness for baking. Born in 1959 in Medicine Hat, Alberta, to Betty and Harold Brucker, Ronda enjoyed playing the piano, swimming, and sewing. She was baptized into the Christian faith at St. Paul Lutheran Church and attended the University of Alberta. In 1981, Ronda moved to Red Deer with then husband Jamie McNamara. Ronda devoted many years at home raising two daughters, Karmen McNamara (Jim Rabb), and Kellie Willie (Keith). She also used her gift for nurturing in her role as a nurse, labour coach, and chiropractic assistant. In 1996, she married Sam Smith. Ronda was known for making everyone feel welcome; she loved hosting gatherings and cooking for her family and many friends. Ronda leaves to mourn many family members including her father; daughters; grand-daughters Brooke and Mikah Willie; brother Gary (Janet) Brucker and her nieces: Erin, Natalie and Claire. Many other cousins, aunts, and uncles also mourn her loss. Ronda was predeceased by her mother and her brother, Randy. Memorial arrangements will be made once isolation guidelines have been lifted, and family members are able to resume travel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Red Deer Regional Health Foundation, 3942 – 50A Ave, Red Deer AB T4N 4E7.
