We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Robert Orville Fallis on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the age of 65. Although Robert was taken from our family and loved ones much too soon, we will treasure our memories with him.
Robert was born in Galahad, Alberta on August 16, 1956 to Orville and Edna Fallis. He was raised in Alliance, Alberta, along with his sisters Rita and Rhonda.
Growing up, Robert spent a lot of time riding horses and helping his dad with the farm. He also enjoyed playing baseball and hockey. You could often find Robert riding bikes with his friends, but he would always be home for his mom’s meals.
At the University of Alberta he obtained his Bachelor of Science and established his love for the Oilers.
He married Bonnie Farebrother, from Castor, in October 1983. They lived together in Red Deer, where they raised three children, Blake, Erin and Rachelle.
Robert worked at IBM, Lion Business Machines and Alpha Milk before working for and retiring from his Systems Analyst position at Nova Chemicals.
Robert loved playing ping pong, pool and golf with his friends and family. He often played card games and tried to solve puzzles. He enjoyed camping throughout Alberta, watching the birds and tapping along to music. He couldn’t resist a Little Ice Cream and Soda Shoppe chocolate milkshake or Bonnie’s delicious baking. You could usually find Robert on a soccer field or in a gym cheering on his kids. If he had a break from his kids’ athletics he’d be at the Rebels’ games or watching the Oilers on TV.
Everyone who met Robert knew him as patient, kind, supportive and calm. He was intelligent and witty, often showing off his goofy side. He had an incredible love for his family.
Robert’s memory will be cherished by his wife Bonnie; son Blake (Olivia); daughters: Erin and Rachelle (Dan); grandson Owen; sisters: Rita (Ken) and Rhonda (Ron); and extended family and friends. Robert is predeceased by his parents: Orville and Edna.
In memory of Robert, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Canada. A ceremony with immediate family will take place at the Alto Reste Cemetery this fall. A private celebration of life will take place next summer.
