Robert Gerhardt Gorsalitz, known as Robert to his wife Myrna, Bob to his friends, and Speedy to his military brethren was born in Lake Lenore, Saskatchewan December 8, 1935. Armed with a grade 8 education, he joined the military service completing two tours of peacekeeping duty in Cyprus and Egypt. He traveled the world expanding his horizons, becoming a chef, a bar keep and a hotel owner. He prepared dinner for Prince Charles, entertained with local celebrities, and cared for the elderly in his later years. He was by definition a jack of all trades and master of none. He passed away peacefully on Monday, March 19, 2018, leaving behind his three children: Michelle, Jason and Stafford, his grandchildren: Caroline, Darbi, Reis, Matthew, and Logan, six great grandchildren, and a plethora of sisters and brothers, and nieces and nephews from the Gorsalitz and Upton clans. Humility being his strongest trait he had no desire to be remembered with any formality, Cheers and Beers would suffice. Condolences may be sent or viewed at www.parklandfuneralhome.com.
