Rick Hodge passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital on January 26, 2024, from complications of years-long battle with Rheumatoid Arthritis. He was 58 years old.

Ricky Dean Hodge was born on May 19, 1965, in Outlook, Saskatchewan. He was the third child born to Stan and Olga.  He was raised in and around Sturgis, Saskatchewan for most of his childhood and graduated high school there in 1983.  After high school, Rick went to Saskatoon where he attended school for welding and worked as a bouncer at various locations throughout the city.  Later in life, he became an accomplished carpenter.

Rick eventually made his way to Alberta where he lived until his passing.  He enjoyed traveling into as many States as possible during his single days and loved to go fishing.  In 1994, along came Christie, followed by Ryland in 1996 – his pride and joys.

Rick is predeceased by his parents, Stan Hodge and Olga Melnychuk, stepfather Leo Melnychuk and niece Carla Gable.  In addition to Christie and Ryland, Rick is survived by his siblings, Brian (Carol), Bev, Renee (Dean), and Ryan (Kristy), and numerous nephews and nieces.

There will be no funeral service at this time as the family will be planning a celebration of Life in the summer of 2024.  The tentative date will be August 17. Details will be provided to the family and friends closer to the date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Arthritis Society Canada or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
