Raymond Angus McLeod
November 6, 1943 – March 21, 2025 (AGE 81)
Surrounded by his beloved family, Mr. Raymond (Ray) Angus McLeod breathed his last and entered the wondrous Kingdom of God at 4:34 PM on March 21st, after a long battle with dementia at the Innisfail Health Centre in Innisfail, Alberta. As his breathing became a silent whisper and his final state was merely a shell of the robust life he once lived, we were privileged to be with him as he went home to his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. We have the undeniable hope that through the power of Jesus, the seed that he was here on earth has blossomed and transformed into eternal life. Where, oh death, is your sting? Grief is but a moment; memories will last a lifetime, and we look forward to seeing you, Dad, Dad-in-Law, Grandpa, Brother, Uncle, and so forth one day.
Ray experienced a transformative Christian conversion 43 years ago and continued to serve his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It was a true blessing that he prayed and reflected on scripture, even in his dementia-laden state. He enjoyed working with his hands, camping, fishing, and being in the great outdoors. He had a passion for rock collecting, believing that rocks showcased the artistry of God. Above all, he was dedicated to counseling and ministering to anyone he could, especially the downtrodden; he openly spoke to and prayed with many people and was always eager to tell them about Jesus. He was incredibly kind and compassionate. His deep devotion and love for his wife, children, daughters-in-law, and grandchildren will certainly be missed. He was so close to celebrating his 63rd wedding anniversary with the love of his life, Euphemia, on April 21st.
Ray was born in Edmonton, Alberta, on November 6, 1943. He is survived by his wife, Euphemia McLeod; son, Clint McLeod (Diane McLeod); grandchildren, Grady and Amica McLeod; sister, Jean Druin (Andre Druin); brother, Rick McLeod (April McLeod); sister-in-law Christel McLeod; and many nieces and nephews.
Ray was predeceased by his son, Scott McLeod; his daughter-in-law, Colleen Benson; his brother, David McLeod; his sisters, Jo-Ann Toth and Helen McLeod; his brothers-in-law, Vic Toth and Ken Ripley; and his parents, Roderick and Betty McLeod.
