Raina Leah Vandal (nee McGillis)

January 14, 1986 – November 6, 2024

Raina Vandal passed away unexpectedly on November 6, 2024. She is survived by her two beautiful and bright daughters, Skylar & Lydia, her sisters, Kyla & Shayna and numerous other family members and friends.

Raina was born in Regina, Saskatchewan to Jane & Don McGillis. Raina was creative, loved spontaneity, extremely organized, naturally athletic, competitive, adventurous and had a stubborn persistence that helped her to overcome many challenges. Raina received a degree in Bachelor of Education from University of Alberta and has been substitute teaching at various schools around Red Deer for many years. Her daughters were her pride and joy and you could often find Raina taking them on an adventure – at the lake, walking trails, tent camping or trying out a new sport or activity. She had a great sense of humor and loved to share her silly side with her daughters.

Raina is now resting peacefully with her brother, Jaden, and her parents, Jane & Don. We ask in lieu of flowers, you donate to this Go Fund Me.

Family and friends are invited to join us in celebrating Raina’s life. A funeral service will be held at Eventide Funeral Home on Saturday, November 16th at 1:00 pm.
