Philip Peter (Phil) Blakely passed away in Olds, Alberta on February 26, 2020 at the age of 64 years.
Phil was born in Red Deer in April 1955. He owned his own business, Phil’s Renovations, for over 30 years. When he wasn’t doing renos, he worked as a trucker all across Canada and the US. He also spent time working on the railway. In addition, Phil was a member of the Olds Fire Department for seven years and the Bowden Fire Department for two years.
When he wasn’t working, Phil loved riding his motorbike and loved to travel with his wife, Linda, by his side. He enjoyed visiting with family and friends, especially at his home, where he took so much pride in mowing the lawn and watching the lilacs and tree mature so nicely. He loved spending as much time as he could with Linda and his pets.
Phil was known for his hard work and sense of humour. He was always there for someone if they needed him. He will always be missed by friends and family, especially Linda.
Phil fought the good fight with cancer and tried to stay positive right to the end. He said many prayers with many good friends.
Phil is lovingly remembered by his spouse, Linda Fabricious-Blakely; daughter Tereena Dawn Blakely and grandson Sawyer Blakely (Kamloops, BC); sister Kathy McIntyre (Sylvan Lake) and niece Marsha McIntyre (Kelowna, BC); stepson Jason Goett (Edmonton); stepdaughter Amanda Goett (Calgary); and step-granddaughters Isabelle Tory, 19, Haylee Tory, 15, Breanna Tory, 14, and Lillianna Goett, 22 months. Phil was predeceased by his mother, Paulene Blakely, his father, Jack (John) Blakely, and his nephew, Michael McIntyre.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in Bowden.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Autism Society Alberta, 3639 – 26 Street NE, Calgary AB, T1Y 5E1.
