It is with great sadness that the family of Peter Pierik (PP) announces his passing on January 18, 2025, at the age of 77 years.

Peter was known for his work ethic, energy for life, and willingness to help anyone. His firm handshake, sense of humor, and laugh made every interaction a good one. When not with family, he loved to watch hockey and cheer on his beloved Oilers.

He was always ready to hang Christmas lights, find parts for cars, clean up the “right way” behind us, tell us a funny story or attempt a joke. Peter was easy-going, which meant he made friends wherever he went and always had time to sit and visit for a coffee or an LJ.

Peter’s love for the Lord was demonstrated in all he did and how he treated others. Knowing he is in heaven full of life and without pain gives his family comfort.

He will be greatly missed by his wife Inez, children Mike (Brandi) and Michelle (Jim). Also left to mourn are his grandchildren Aaron, Matt (Lane), Cale and Sina – they were the light of his life. Peter could not have been prouder of the family he had.

Peter is survived by his sisters Jannie, Kay (Jim) and Herma (Cor). 4 sisters-in-law and 2 brothers-in-law, Liz (Bob), Gerda (Roland), Joanne (Nick), Sarah, John (Val) and Peter and many nieces and nephews. Peter was predeceased by his brother Victor, and 3 brothers in law – Murray, George and Martin.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the RDCC specifically Jennifer and Dr. Prajapati as well as all the staff at the RDRH, especially in unit 32. The care that dad received while there from everyone was wonderful.

Peter’s family extends an invitation to join them in a celebration of his life at First Christian Reformed Church, 16 McVicar Street on Friday, January 24th 2025 at 1:30pm.
