Peter died on Jan 15/23 at age 86 in Red Deer AB.
He was predeceased by his wife Ann in 2018, and is survived by 3 sons; Ross, Fergus and Luke, as well as 3 grandchildren; Micah, Parks and Arthur.
Peter was born in Cheadle, England on 12th July 1936. He was educated at Rossall School in Lancashire and St. Mary’s Hospital Medical School (University of London), from which he graduated as a 0physician in 1962. His subsequent specialist training in obstetrics and gynaecology was at several hospitals in and close to London. It was in operating rooms of the Hammersmith Hospital that he met Ann Miller who was working there as a nurse. Peter and Ann were married in 1968. In 1969 they emigrated to Canada and from 1971 lived in Rossland. During the next 28 years Peter worked as an obstetrician and gynaecologist at the Trail Regional Hospital, until his retirement in 1999.
Peter was addicted to downhill skiing, especially skiing in the trees and glades on Red Mountain, and he also enjoyed cross-county skiing. He had a love-hate relationship with golf after playing to single figure handicap in his younger years.
Other interests included hiking, kayaking, and sailing, as well as stamp-collecting, wine-making, and reading novels.
At Peter’s request there will not be any funeral or memorial service, and cremation had already taken place. Flowers and memorial donations are respectfully declined.
