Patrick (Pat) Stanton Scharf

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Patrick (Pat) Stanton Scharf. He peacefully left his life on earth on September 4, 2026 at the age of 84 years old. He was beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by wife Lois of 56 years, sister Lylena Blythe (Dale); children, Glen (Heidi), Gena (Dean), Michelle (Darryl); 4 Grandchildren, Stephanie, James, Levi and Trevor; 5 Great Grandchildren, Elias, Persefona, Teodor, Ellery and Alistair. He was predeceased by his parents and his younger brother Neill (Joanne).
Pat was born on a farm, March 23, 1942 in Lloydminster, Saskatchewan to Cecil and Peggy Scharf. He graduated from high school in Lloydminster and then left the farm to pursue his future. In 1969, he moved to Toronto to attend Devry School of Technology where he received a diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology and following that he enjoyed a fulfilling career. At the age of 60, Pat retired and enjoyed being a Snowbird for many years! When asked about his life, he said, “It was good.”
Pat was well known for his ability to build or repair almost anything. He was also very creative and skilled in woodwork, carving, painting and metal aet and his work of art were admired by many! He was always willing to help his neighbors, friends and anyone that needed help. He had a commanding presence and a quiet mischievous smile. He will be remembered as “ Forever Cool!”
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Red Deer Hospice would be greatly appreciated.
