Patricia Ghostkeeper passed away peacefully on September 17, 2025, at the age of 81, surrounded by the love of her family at Red Deer Hospital. A beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Patricia will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Patricia had a deep love for life’s quiet joys—gardening, reading, and creating art. Her beautiful gardens were admired by many and even earned her recognition in Alberta Gardener for their beauty and creativity. A gifted painter, she shared her talent through her art classes, where her gentle spirit and artistic eye inspired many. Her book club will feel her absence deeply, as her thoughtful insights and kind heart made her a cherished member.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, Lance Ghostkeeper (Deana McNeish) and daughters Connie Mallinson (Mike Mallinson) and Natasha Ghostkeeper (Wyatt Calvert) her grandchildren Brett Mallinson (Hannah Feddema), Aurealia Bolianatz, and Oliver Calvert; and her sister Sandy Staple (Rick Staple).
A private family service will be held in her memory. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sundre Public Library or Greenwood Neighborhood Place, both causes close to Patricia’s heart.
A MOTHER’S LOVE
A Poem in Her Memory
A mother’s love, so deep, so wide,
A quiet strength she could not hide.
She taught with hands that sowed and grew,
In every bloom, her spirit flew.
She painted skies with strokes of grace,
Left beauty in each quiet place.
With every book, with every seed,
She gave her love through thoughtful deed.
Now gardens bloom where she once tread,
In whispered winds, the words she said.
Though gone from sight, she’s never far—
We see her in each leaf and star.
