Nels passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 8, 2018, at his home in Blackfalds, Alberta, at the age of 88 years. Nels was a long time resident of Blackfalds. At the age of 16, he began his career and later became Leading Track Maintenance Foreman at CP Rail (Alberta North Division) in Lacombe, Alberta. He was very proud of his exemplary service for 39 years. He retired at the age of 55 and enjoyed many years of camping and fishing out West, camping at Sunset Legion Campground at Gull Lake, having coffee with friends at A&W, and many long walks over the years with his beloved dogs, Misty and then Bear.
Nels is survived by his nephew, Greg (Kim) Lund,; nieces, Carrie (Mike) Parama, Lori (Lutz) Menge, Osta Kleven, Jill New and their families; as well as family members, Janice and Dennis Lundstrom and family.
Nels was predeceased by his parents, Nils and Marie Lund; his sister, Gerda Kleven; and his brother, Ralph Lund.
As per Nels’ wishes, no funeral service will be held.
