Neil Peter Sword

Neil Peter Sword of Red Deer County, passed away at the Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre on June 24, 2018 at the age of 63 years. Neil was born in Edmonton in May of 1955 and was adopted shortly after birth by Jack and Mary Sword of the Cumberland District. While attending school in Delburne, Neil still helped on the family farm as much as he could. Neil had a helping hand in many areas over the years, working at the Delburne Golf Course, Delburne Noise Solutions and most recently at the Wal Mart in Stettler. In 2010, Neil met the love of his life, Corina, and they married in June of 2012. Neil enjoyed volunteering at the Pursuing Active Living Support program in Stettler. Neil was very active in the community, being a member of the Red Deer Legion, Delburne Drop In, Delburne Safe Family, Delburne Elks and the Delburne Cooking Club. Neil will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Corina; brother Ian (Sharon) Sword; biological siblings Sandy, Geraldine, Caroline, Barbara, and Cathy as well as numerous other family members and friends. A Celebration of Neil’s life will be held at the Delburne Community Hall in Delburne on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 2:00 p.m..
